The Role:
To work with the Risk partner to manage the risk management processes under the SMF 24 – Operations and IT. Which involves the following:
Responsibilities:
- Collate information and assist with the completion of SMF Attestations, RCSA’s, audits, RAS/KRI metrics, monthly risk packs, Principal Risk Dashboards (PRDs).
- Ensuring the risk management system is accurate and up to date across all inputs, including:
- Risk registers
- Risk assessments
- Control registers
- Control testing
- Issues
- Corrective actions
- Incidents
- Tasks
- Escalate any risk areas outside of appetite to the Risk Partner
- Responsible for obtaining and communicating monthly updates on key items, tracked through the Monthly Risk Meetings, including actions, tasks, PTGs etc.
Understand and Manage Risk profile (proactive risk management):
- Support the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process by gathering necessary information and obtaining updates in response to material risk events and ahead of annual assessment sessions.
- Delivery and tracking of actions identified during the RCSA process.
- Completion of analysis and commentary for Principal Risk Dashboards, highlighting areas of concerns and emerging risks.
Incident Management:
- Support incident management, with appropriate engagement applied based on the severity of incidents, assessed against the Bank’s Risk Impact Matrix (high level of engagement required for moderate to severe incidents).
- Responsible for ensuring effective coordination, monitoring, tracking and resolution of incidents. Incidents should be recorded on Resolver, managed and closed within SLAs, with tasks created (where applicable) and all updates clearly documented and tracked, via the monthly Risk Meetings.
- Contribute to post-incident analysis on incident performance, with thematic issues identified and lessons learned captured.
Requirements of role:
- Minimum 3 years’ financial services experience
- Good knowledge of non-regulated, secured lending
- Strong verbal and written communication, able to present complex information in a manner appropriate to a particular target audience.
- Proven analytical skills and business analysis, able to assimilate new and sometimes complex information and to assist with the formulation of an appropriate response.
- Be able to communicate effectively with internal colleagues at various levels.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness.
- Stakeholder management skills, able to build effective business relationships and mutually beneficial, collaborative engagement across relevant departments.
